Henk Badings has written many important works in the 31-tone tuning, most often for 31-tone organ and for string ensembles. His single most important work is probably the String Quartet No. IV, edited here in the Corpus Microtonale. It is in four movements, in the classical scheme slow–fast–slow–fast. The composer oversaw the proofs of this edition just before his untimely death on 25 June 1987.
Parts are available from Donemus, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
